MBA in Healthcare Leadership Programs The program’s mission is to provide SUNY Optometry students and graduates the skills and competencies needed for effective management and executive leadership in healthcare. In addition to expanding on the goals of the certificate program, the student going on to complete the MBA program will develop skills that will enable them to become leaders in  Economics  Health policy  Information management systems  Improving patient satisfaction  Ethics and legal issues  Inter ‐ professional collaboration  Integration of all concepts  Evidence ‐ based accountable care systems As discussed above under the Advanced Graduate Certificate in Optometry Business Management program, assessment has led to enhanced recruitment efforts. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) offers comprehensive and innovative post ‐ graduate education that meets all optometric licensure and board certification requirements while at the same time enhances the quality of optometric care and the standing of the optometric profession. Goals in support of this mission include:  To provide continuing professional education that is cutting ‐ edge in content, innovative in delivery, and comprehensive in scope  To provide continuing professional education that enables optometrists to meet their licensure and certification requirements and more specifically, enables New York State optometrists to meet the continuing education requirements to maintain their licenses.  To provide speaking opportunities for SUNY faculty to assist in their professional development.  To be recognized as the premier provider of continuing professional education in New York State.  To enhance the reputation of SUNY College of Optometry within the health care community.  To enhance the standing of the optometric profession by improving the knowledge and skills of optometrists who attend our office’s programs.
