ID Card Policy The College Security Policy requires that all Faculty, Staff, and Students present their SUNY Optometry ID cards when they enter the building and to wear their ID cards conspicuously on their outermost garment at all times while in the building. SUNY Optometry ID Card is equipped with proximity technology to enable access through various access control security devices, including the lobby turnstiles. If you lose your SUNY ID card you will need a replacement ID card. To obtain a replacement you must: file a report with UPD so that the lost ID card can be disabled; pay a $5.00 fee at the 9th floor Bursar's office; and then take your receipt to the 3rd floor Media Center to get a replacement ID card. Visitors Policy Visitors to the building must be pre-registered online through the visitor pre-registration portal (http://visitorpass.optnet.edu) or at the 42 nd Street University Police Desk. To access the pre-registration portal, employees must log in from a computer on the college network and authenticate using their network credentials (userxxxx). Visitors must present valid photo identification and state the reason for their visit to the desk officer. Visitors are restricted to visit only the floors indicated on the visitor’s pass issued to them. To know the status of a visitor through visual recognition, visitors are issued white passes with either the word VISITOR or PATIENT imprinted on the front of the pass in bold type text. Patients are ONLY allowed on clinical floors. In order to protect the confidentiality of patient information, visitors should not be in areas where patient information can be accessed or viewed, except when prior authorization or clearance is obtained from Clinical Administration.
