Ted Long, MD, MHS, LHD (Hon) is senior vice president and System Chief Medical Officer for Clinical
Services and Population Health at NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest municipal public health care system in the country. Dr. Long leads the system’s clinical services across acute and ambulatory care, providing six million
centers in New York City. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry and completed a residency in ocular disease at SUNY Optometry, followed by a master’s in public health from CUNY School of Public Health. Dr. Harewood is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Her research focuses on retinal manifestations of systemic disease and equitable access to eye care. A former member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Task Force on Disparities in Eye Care,
